OH CRAP, or, Mom Always Said, Don't Run Around on the Slightly Splintery Hardwoods Playing Soccer With the Dog in Your Favorite Koigu Socks
(please excuse the dog hair)
Anybody know what exactly you're supposed to do with one of those darning egg thingies?

I have no idea. Which makes this a pretty useless comment. I'm having a similar dilemma. I pulled out my favorite merino socks for the window and found what appear to be two moth holes. Over which I'm panicking a bit. But everything else in my drawer is in tact, mostly because life in North Carolina does not lend itself to large numbers of wool undergarments. So now I just need to darn the holes, but I don't know how. Let me know how your darning experience goes.
OH, I am a bad, bad SP. I have been so busy that I have neglected you! Not to worry, treats will be on their way shortly.
By the way, you are certainly churning out some quality items! Go, girl!

I think -- think mind you -- that you use the egg as a "brace" for the sock. That is, put it behind the hole so that (a) you don't darn into the other side of the sock and (b) you don't make the darn too flat. If that's possible.
So NOW your knits are in danger...
Glad to hear that Bailey can play soccer with you.

That's a link to a darn good tutorial on how to darn socks. Enjoy! Happy thanksgiving!
